Contraceptive Commodities Procurement Plan 2003-2006

This planning document is intended to guide the Ministry in the timely procurement of contraceptive commodities. In order to achieve the objective of integrating all contraceptive commodities into our essential drugs programme, future procurement of contraceptive commodities will be done alongside other health commodities. This is because contraception, which is a significant componenet of reproductive health, is one of the sic core packages in the National Health Sector Strategic Plan within which contraceptives are one of the entitlements in the essential minimum package for health to be offered in all SDPs.
