Abstract

Health Policy Issues and Health Programmes in Uttaranchal
DOHFW and POLICY (May 2002)

 Order for free

The Government of Uttaranchal has taken the initiative to formulate a health and population policy to improve the health status of people of the state and to achieve the replacement level of fertility. To enable this, the state intends to systematically address the health needs of the people in both hilly and plain areas. To do this, it has to have a state-specific policy along with an appropriate implementation strategy and operational plans. For a policy to have wider public acceptance, as series of consultative meetings with stakeholders is required. As part of this approach and effort, a workshop on Health Policy Issues and Health Programme - the second of a series of proposed workshop and consultative meetings - was held in Mussoorie on May 9-10, 2002.
