POLICY Project in Cambodia
The goal of POLICY Project assistance in Cambodia is to build and strengthen the ability of organizations and institutions to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support programs and policies. The project works with key government and civil society partners, including the National AIDS Authority (NAA) and faith-based organizations.

In particular, POLICY seeks to improve multisectoral capacity and involvement in the country's national HIV/AIDS strategic plan, developed under the auspices of the NAA. In support of this objective, the project aims to strengthen the functioning of the NAA by

  • supporting the HIV/AIDS efforts of the Ministry of National Defense (MOND), the Ministry of Women's and Veterans' Affairs (MOWVA), and the Ministry of Cult and Religion (MOCR); and
  • expanding the meaningful role and contribution of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs).
The POLICY Project also focuses on improving the HIV/AIDS response of the faith-based sector. Groups in this sector can act as powerful catalysts for addressing issues related to stigma and discrimination. POLICY is supporting initiatives that promote community acceptance of HIV, reduce stigma, and encourage PLHAs to practice preventive behaviors and seek relevant care and support.
