Europe and Eurasia
POLICY's work in the Eastern Europe and Eurasia (E&E) region aims to improve reproductive health, including maternal and child health and men's and women's sexual health, by focusing on each country's priority issues. These issues include strengthening and sustaining family planning programs while reducing reliance on abortion as the primary method of fertility control; improving access and affordability of FP/RH services; mobilizing public and private resources for FP/RH; and reducing the spread and mitigating the effects of HIV/AIDS.
The major areas of POLICY assistance in the E&E region are in
- advocacy;
- strengthening NGO networks;
- policy dialogue and formulation;
- strategic planning;
- FP/RH finance; and
- increased use of information for decision making.
